International Prisons Ministry Nigeria — Bringing hope, restoration, and transformation to prisoners and ex-inmates across Nigeria.
The International Prisons Ministry (Nigeria) is a faith-based organisation dedicated to the spiritual, emotional, and practical transformation of prisoners and ex-inmates. Founded by Pastor Martin Kalu Agwu, we reach into Nigeria’s prison system to offer the love of Christ, practical help, and genuine hope for a restored future.
From Prisoner to Deliverer of Prisoners
Pastor Martin Kalu Agwu’s story is a powerful testimony of God’s redeeming grace. A promising young accountant in 1980, he was wrongfully convicted through the deception of a conman and sentenced to three and a half years in Owerri Prison in 1988.
While in prison, Martin encountered Jesus Christ in a life-changing way. His anger turned to faith, and his life was so transformed that the prison authorities themselves noticed his positive influence. In 1991, six months before the end of his term, he was released early and commissioned to begin prison ministry work.
That same year, the International Prisons Ministry was born. For over three decades, Pastor Martin has sacrificially ministered the Gospel, provided material relief, and supported the rehabilitation of thousands of inmates across Nigeria.

Rehabilitation & Skills Centre
Land has been acquired. We need funds to build a centre that will train ex-inmates in useful skills for successful reintegration.
Functional Office
A modern office to coordinate nationwide outreaches and follow-up programs for released inmates.
Ongoing Support
Monthly support for food, Bibles, skill tools, and transportation for prison visitations.
